Trade Embalming
What states do you provide trade embalming in?

We provide trade embalming services to licensed funeral homes throughout Virginia, North Carolina, Kentucky, and Tennessee. Richard holds active funeral director and embalmer licenses in all four states.

Who performs the trade embalming?

Richard Jerkins personally performs all trade embalming. We do not subcontract this work. When you call JMS, you get Richard.

Do you handle autopsy cases?

Yes. Richard has extensive experience with post-autopsy embalming and handles these cases with the technical skill and professional care they require.

Do you handle difficult or complex cases?

Yes. Richard's decades of experience across large metropolitan firms and small community funeral homes means he has encountered and handled a wide range of cases including obese cases and other presentations that require additional skill and experience.

Removal & Transport
What areas do you cover for removals?

We provide removals from homes, institutions, and funeral homes throughout Virginia, North Carolina, Kentucky, and Tennessee. We are licensed in Virginia for surface transport.

Do you offer long distance transport?

Yes. Our transport services extend nationwide. If you need a transfer beyond our regional removal area, call us and we will work with you to make it happen.

How do I request a removal or transport?

Call Richard directly at 336-380-3088. For first calls and time-sensitive removals, please always call — do not rely on email or the contact form for urgent needs.

Equipment Repair & Machines
What types of equipment do you repair?

We repair and rebuild embalming machines, embalming tables, cemetery lowering devices, church trucks, casket holders, and cots. If you are not sure whether we can help with a specific piece of equipment, call and ask.

Can I ship my embalming machine to you for repair?

Yes. We accept machines shipped to us from anywhere in the country. Before you pack it up, please watch our packaging video on our Equipment Repair page — proper packaging protects your machine in transit. When in doubt, call Richard before you ship.

Do you manufacture your own embalming machines?

Yes. JMS manufactures the Model 1550 embalming machine from the ground up — built with a stainless steel housing, operating pressure up to 50 PSI, and flow rate up to 15 gallons per hour. We also rebuild and restore name brand machines. See our Machine Sales page for details on the Model 1550.

How much does repair or rebuilding cost?

Pricing varies based on the equipment and the scope of work needed. Call or text Richard at 336-380-3088 to discuss your equipment and get a quote.

What is the turnaround time for repairs?

Turnaround time varies depending on the repair needed and parts availability. Richard will discuss a realistic timeline with you before any work begins. We always communicate openly so you know what to expect.

Supplies & Orders
Do you ship supplies and equipment?

Yes. We ship mortuary supplies and equipment domestically throughout the United States and internationally where customs allow. Shipping costs and timelines vary by destination.

What payment methods do you accept?

We accept major credit and debit cards through our secure online store. For questions about payment on larger orders or equipment, contact Richard directly.

What is your return policy?

All sales are final and we do not offer a formal warranty on any products including manufactured or rebuilt machines. That said, we stand behind our work. If you receive something with a defect or run into a problem — a leak, a malfunction, something that is not right — call us and we will work with you to make it right. We are not going to leave you on your own to figure it out. Please inspect all items upon receipt and contact us as soon as possible if there is a concern.

Can individuals purchase from JMS?

No. All products and services are sold exclusively to licensed funeral professionals. By placing an order you represent that you hold all required licenses in your state of operation. JMS reserves the right to cancel any order from an unlicensed individual.
