We have two JMS 1550 embalming machines built and ready to ship. They are the same machine as our new JMS 1550, with one difference. Each one sits on a reconditioned base from an older machine instead of a new base. We cleaned up and refinished the base, and everything inside it is new.
Richard Jerkins designed the JMS 1550 after more than 30 years in the prep room as a licensed embalmer, and our son Liam builds them in our shop in Castlewood, Virginia.
What is new
The pump, the motor, the plumbing, the controls, the wiring, the gauges and the tank. The only reused part is the base.
Control
- 50 PSI maximum, with separate knobs for pressure and rate of flow.
- Liquid-filled pressure gauge, so the needle doesn’t shake and you get a detailed reading.
- Rate-of-flow sight gauge on the side. You see how much you are injecting as it happens.
- A Mix / Off / Inject switch, with a red light for mix and a green light for inject.
Built to protect itself
- The pump shuts off on its own when the tank runs empty, so it never runs dry.
- Direct-drive pump with no belts and no pulleys.
- A built-in electric fluid shutoff, so nothing drains from the tank when the machine is off.
Construction
- 2-gallon glass tank with a stainless mesh filter, under a white poly top.
- Brass plumbing fittings and chemical-resistant lines.
- Hose barb main fitting, so it takes standard, low-cost tubing. A clear silicone hose comes with it.
Not rated for phenol or cavity fluid.
