Richard grew up in Wharton Texas, graduated from Commonwealth Institute of Funeral Service (Houston, TX) in 1996, was licensed in Texas as a Funeral Director and Embalmer. He worked in the Freeport /Lake Jackson TX area for 6 years. Richard relocated to North Carolina to start married life in the mountains with Shannon. He is licensed in North Carolina, Virginia and Kentucky, having served as a funeral director and embalmer for nearly 28 years. Richard also pastored a small church in Fleetwood, NC.
As a homeschool dad, he has taught and mentored his children and it has been a great honor to see them grow and flourish.
Shannon grew up in Abingdon, Virginia graduated from Bluefield College (now Bluefield University) in 1999 with a degree in Business Management and Accounting. She also attended Commonwealth Institute of Funeral Service.
Shannon is the bookkeeper for Jerkins Mortuary Services as well as other small businesses in the area.
Together Richard and Shannon have 5 children, she has been blessed to stay at home and homeschool them.
In her spare time (which isn't often), she enjoys creating stained glass art as well as sewing.
